This Privacy Policy explains how 77beats handles information when you use Beatscale: Converter & Tools, which this policy calls "Beatscale" or the "App."

Beatscale is developed and operated by 77beats. In this policy, "77beats," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the developer and operator of Beatscale.

Privacy at a glance

  • Beatscale does not require an account or sign-in.
  • Conversion math, document scans, OCR, image editing, PDF tools, and color sampling run on your device.
  • Beatscale does not upload your conversion content, source images, recognized text, scans, or generated files to 77beats servers to provide these tools.
  • Beatscale does not contain ads or an advertising SDK.
  • 77beats does not sell personal information or share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Favorites, history, preferences, and app-managed output files stay on your device unless you choose to export, share, print, or back them up.
  • Progress and completion notifications for document tasks are created on your device. Beatscale does not use a push-notification service.
  • A one-time Premium purchase is handled by the app store and RevenueCat using an anonymous App User ID.
  • Production versions use Firebase Crashlytics to send technical crash and stability reports when automatic reporting is enabled or you approve a saved report. Limited navigation breadcrumbs are added only while automatic reporting is enabled. Beatscale does not add Firebase Analytics or a custom user identity to those reports.
  • Network Health contacts the public Cloudflare, Google, or Quad9 target that you select only while you run a test.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Beatscale mobile app and to support requests about Beatscale. It does not govern third-party apps, services, or websites that you choose to open or use from the App. Those services have their own privacy terms.

2. Information processed on your device

Beatscale processes the following information locally to provide its tools:

  • conversion values, units, results, favorites, history, and precision settings
  • dates entered into date tools, including a date of birth used for an age calculation
  • images selected from your library or captured with the camera
  • document scans and OCR results
  • image editor layers, text, drawings, and edits
  • PDF source files, generated documents, extracted pages, compression results, and page-numbering settings
  • sampled colors and saved color values
  • app preferences, theme choices, and onboarding status

A document task that you start, such as a PDF export or a multi-image import, may continue while the screen is off or the App is in the background until it finishes, you cancel it, or the operating system stops it. On Android this uses a foreground service with a visible progress notification. This background processing also runs entirely on your device.

This content is not sent to 77beats to perform these functions. Some information may remain in the App's private storage so you can reopen history or continue using your settings. Temporary scan, OCR, and editing files are removed after use or during a later app cleanup. App-managed generated files remain in private storage until a successful backup restore replaces them, you use Delete all data, you remove the App, or the operating system clears them. Clearing the visible History list removes its records but may leave those internal file copies until then.

When you copy, export, share, save, or print something, you direct the App to send that item to the system clipboard, location, app, printer, or person you select. Clipboard contents may be available to the operating system or other apps under your device's clipboard rules. A selected destination handles the item under its own privacy terms.

Recognized text can contain quick actions for a phone number, email address, website, street address, or tracking number. These actions run only when you select them. The relevant value is then passed to the external phone, mail, browser, maps, or Google Search app or service that handles the action.

3. Information handled for Premium purchases

Beatscale offers a one-time Premium purchase. Google Play or the Apple App Store processes the payment. 77beats does not receive your full payment card or bank details.

RevenueCat helps the App verify the purchase, restore access, and determine whether Premium is active. The RevenueCat SDK may connect when Beatscale starts to check the current entitlement, even if you have not bought Premium.

Beatscale does not create a custom account for RevenueCat and does not send RevenueCat your name, email address, phone number, or a custom account identifier. RevenueCat generates an anonymous App User ID; it is not shown in the App, so requests about the record are matched through your Google Play order ID instead (see the data deletion page).

The app store and RevenueCat may process:

  • the anonymous App User ID
  • the store product and purchase history
  • a receipt, purchase token, transaction status, and entitlement status
  • app, SDK, platform, device, operating-system, locale, currency, and regional information
  • connection times and technical network information needed to operate and secure the purchase service
  • on Apple devices, the current App Tracking Transparency authorization status reported by the operating system

RevenueCat may use an IP address to determine the country of a connection. RevenueCat states that it drops the IP address after determining the country. 77beats uses RevenueCat information to complete purchases, restore Premium, provide support, prevent fraud, and understand purchase performance. Beatscale does not use RevenueCat for advertising or cross-app tracking.

A new purchase or restore requires an internet connection. If RevenueCat has already verified Premium and cached the signed entitlement on that installation, Premium tools remain available while the device is offline. On Android, Beatscale is additionally protected by Google Play's automatic integrity protection, which Google applies to the distributed app itself; Beatscale does not run its own device-attestation checks.

RevenueCat's handling of information is described in its Privacy Policy. Google and Apple describe their handling in the Google Privacy Policy and Apple Privacy Policy.

4. Google ML Kit and document scanning

Beatscale uses Google ML Kit for on-device text recognition, QR-code scanning, and, on supported Android devices, document scanning. Input images, recognized text, and QR-code contents are processed on the device and are not sent to Google by ML Kit. Google Play services may download scanner components when the Android document scanner is first used.

The ML Kit SDK may send Google technical information such as device and app details, a per-install identifier, feature configuration and usage, performance measurements, and error diagnostics. This information helps Google maintain and improve the SDK. It does not include the input image or recognized text. Google explains these practices in the Android ML Kit data disclosure, iOS ML Kit data disclosure, and ML Kit Terms.

On Apple devices, Beatscale uses Apple's system frameworks, including VisionKit, for supported scanning functions. Scan content remains on the device unless you choose to export or share it.

5. Crash and stability reporting

Production versions of Beatscale can use Google Firebase Crashlytics to detect, diagnose, and fix crashes, uncaught software errors, and, on Android, application-not-responding events.

Beatscale shows a crash-reporting control during Welcome and in Settings > Privacy & Data. It is off by default for everyone. You can change the control at any time. Your choice is stored on the device and may be included in a backup you choose to export. While automatic reporting is off, Beatscale does not add navigation breadcrumbs or non-fatal reports. A fatal crash report may be stored on the device so Beatscale can ask after the next launch whether you want to send that one report or delete it. Sending a saved report once does not enable automatic reporting. Explicitly turning reporting off asks Crashlytics to disable collection and deletes reports still waiting on the device. It does not delete reports already uploaded to Google.

When automatic crash reporting is enabled, or when you approve a saved report, Crashlytics may receive:

  • crash, exception, thread, and stack-trace details
  • the time of the event and a randomly generated session identifier
  • the App's identifier, version, build, and process state
  • a Crashlytics installation UUID and Firebase installation ID
  • device model, CPU architecture, memory and disk information, operating-system name and version, and whether the device appears rooted or jailbroken

Beatscale does not add Firebase Analytics, advertising identifiers, or a custom user ID. When automatic reporting is enabled, it adds limited custom Crashlytics breadcrumbs for app startup, onboarding completion, and navigation actions involving an allow-listed top-level screen category. Dynamic route values are reduced to a generic category. No custom breadcrumbs are added while automatic reporting is off. Beatscale does not deliberately attach conversion inputs, recognized text, images, scans, documents, generated files, or other user content to a crash report or breadcrumb. Before storing or sending Dart error reports, Beatscale automatically redacts common personal identifiers, credentials, and user-scoped file paths from exception messages and stack traces. Automated redaction reduces privacy risk but cannot guarantee that every possible identifier embedded in an unusual technical error will be detected.

77beats uses these reports only to measure app stability, investigate defects, and improve Beatscale. Google processes the reports as a service provider under the Google Privacy Policy and the Google APIs Terms of Service. Google states that Crashlytics keeps crash stack traces, processed crash data, and associated installation identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from live and backup systems. See Google's Privacy and Security in Firebase page.

6. Network Health

Network Health is an optional, user-started diagnostic. It sends a small, bounded set of probes directly from your device to the public target you select:

  • Cloudflare at one.one.one.one, 1.1.1.1, or 2606:4700:4700::1111
  • Google Public DNS at dns.google, 8.8.8.8, or 2001:4860:4860::8888
  • Quad9 at dns.quad9.net, 9.9.9.9, or 2620:fe::fe

The test sends Internet Control Message Protocol echo probes or attempts a Transmission Control Protocol connection to port 853. A standard hostname lookup may also use the DNS service already configured on your device. Beatscale does not route these probes through 77beats servers. Test measurements remain in memory for the active test and are not uploaded to or retained by 77beats. The test stops when Beatscale leaves the foreground.

The selected provider, your internet provider, and networks carrying the traffic can observe normal connection information, including your public IP address, connection time, protocol, and target. Their policies govern that processing. See the Cloudflare Public DNS privacy commitments, Cloudflare Privacy Policy, Google Public DNS privacy information, Google Privacy Policy, and the Quad9 Data and Privacy Policy.

Network Health does not scan your local network, read the Wi-Fi network name, inspect arbitrary hosts or ports, or run in the background.

7. Device permissions

Depending on your device and the tool you choose, Beatscale may ask for:

  • Camera access to scan documents, capture an image for a PDF tool, or sample colors.
  • Photo or file access through the operating system picker so you can select an image, document, backup, or save location.
  • Notification permission on Android 13 and later, requested when you first start a document task, so Beatscale can show that task's progress and completion. These notifications are created on the device; Beatscale does not use a push-notification service. On Apple devices, Beatscale uses the operating system's quiet provisional delivery for task-completion notices and does not show a notification permission prompt. If you decline or disable notifications, the task still runs; you simply do not see its notifications.
  • Internet access for purchase verification, Android app-integrity checks before purchase or restore, optional Network Health tests, SDK diagnostics, and opening links you select.

You can deny or revoke optional permissions in your device settings. The related feature may not work without the permission. Beatscale does not request your contacts, precise location, microphone, or general local-network access.

8. Support communications

If you email 77beats, we receive the email address you use, the content of your message, and any information or files you choose to include. We use that information to respond, diagnose the issue, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Do not send payment card details, passwords, or unrelated sensitive information.

9. How information is shared

77beats shares information only in the following limited situations:

  • Purchase services. Google Play, the Apple App Store, and RevenueCat receive the information needed to sell, verify, restore, and support Premium.
  • Technical service providers. Google receives the limited ML Kit technical information described above.
  • Crash reporting. Google Firebase Crashlytics receives the technical crash and stability information described above when automatic reporting is enabled or you approve a saved report. It receives limited breadcrumbs only while automatic reporting is enabled.
  • Network Health providers. Cloudflare, Google, or Quad9 receives the probes you choose to send to its public resolver. Your device's configured DNS service may also receive a hostname lookup.
  • Support communications. The email services used by you and 77beats process the addresses, message content, and attachments needed to deliver a support conversation.
  • Actions you request. A file or result is sent to the clipboard, app, service, printer, location, or person you select when you copy, export, share, save, print, open, call, email, map, or search for it.
  • Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, 77beats, or the public.
  • Business changes. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of the business, subject to this policy and applicable law.

77beats does not sell personal information. Beatscale does not use personal information for advertising and does not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.

10. Legal grounds for processing

Where a law requires a legal basis, 77beats relies on:

  • performance of a contract to provide the App, Premium access, purchase support, and requested features
  • legitimate interests in securing, troubleshooting, and improving the App and responding to support requests
  • consent where we specifically ask for it and consent is the appropriate legal basis
  • compliance with legal obligations

You may revoke a device permission in system settings. This prevents the related feature from using that permission in the future but does not affect processing that was lawful before revocation. You can also turn off crash reporting in Settings > Privacy & Data. Where consent is the legal basis, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

11. Retention and deletion

  • Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, remove the App, or the operating system removes it. On Android, Beatscale disables automatic app-data backup. On Apple devices and other environments, device-level backups may retain a copy according to your operating system and backup settings.
  • Temporary working files are removed after use or during a later app cleanup.
  • Network Health results remain in memory for the current test and are not retained by 77beats.
  • Purchase and entitlement information is retained by the app store and RevenueCat as needed to provide Premium, prevent fraud, keep transaction records, and comply with law. You may request deletion of the RevenueCat customer record as explained in the Beatscale Data Deletion Guide. Using Beatscale after that deletion may create a new anonymous RevenueCat record.
  • Firebase Crashlytics reports are retained by Google under its Crashlytics retention schedule. Google states that crash stack traces, processed crash data, and associated installation identifiers are kept for 90 days before removal begins. Turning crash reporting off or deleting Beatscale's local data removes reports still waiting on the device but does not delete a report already uploaded to Crashlytics.
  • Google ML Kit technical information and network-provider logs are retained under the relevant provider's policy. 77beats does not control those retention periods.
  • Support messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, maintain appropriate business records, protect legal rights, and meet legal obligations.

Deleting local Beatscale data does not delete exported files, backup archives, copies held by a sharing destination, operating-system backup copies, app-store transaction records, or RevenueCat records.

12. Security

Beatscale uses app-private device storage for its local data. Android automatic app-data backup is disabled. Connections used by RevenueCat, Firebase, and Google SDKs are encrypted in transit according to their platform requirements. We limit the information sent to providers. The Android purchase-integrity function receives no conversion, scan, OCR, image, document, or PDF content.

No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your device protected and review the destination before exporting or sharing sensitive documents.

13. International processing

77beats operates from Canada. RevenueCat, Google, Apple, Cloudflare, Quad9, email services, and their service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, Switzerland, and other countries. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live. Where required, the responsible provider uses legal safeguards for international transfers.

EU and UK representative

77beats is based in Canada and has not appointed a representative under Article 27 of the EU GDPR or the UK GDPR. The limited processing subject to those laws is occasional, does not involve large-scale processing of special categories of data, and is unlikely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, so the Article 27(2) exemption applies. If you are in the EU, the EEA, or the UK, you can contact 77beats at [email protected] about your personal data, and you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

14. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have the right to:

  • know whether personal information is processed and receive access to it
  • correct inaccurate information
  • request deletion or restriction of processing
  • receive certain information in a portable format
  • object to certain processing or withdraw consent
  • complain to your local privacy authority
  • receive equal service and pricing when exercising a privacy right
  • opt out of a sale or qualifying use for targeted advertising

77beats does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. You can control crash reporting and export or delete local data from Settings > Privacy & Data. For a request about anonymous purchase information or a support message, email [email protected]. We may need enough information to locate the record and verify the request.

You may also contact the provider that controls a separate store, Crashlytics, ML Kit, resolver, or operating-system record. We will help direct you where reasonably possible.

15. Children

Beatscale is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. It has no account system or age gate and does not knowingly solicit a child's name or contact details. The age calculator lets a user enter a date of birth, but that date is processed on the device and is not used to identify the user or sent to 77beats. The technical and purchase processing described in this policy can still occur when the App is used. If you believe a child sent information to 77beats through support or has an anonymous RevenueCat record, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

16. Changes to this document

We may update this policy when Beatscale, its providers, or legal requirements change. The revised version will show a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how personal information is handled, we will provide notice in the App or by another reasonable method when required by law.
